About Me

A therapist and educator for over 30 years, I have a particular interest and expertise in working with individuals healing the effects of long-term unresolved trauma, as well as a variety of other life issues.

I have worked as a clinician and as a director of community-based organizations here and in Montreal. I have had the privilege of working with young people, men and women from all cultures and backgrounds including Inuit and First Nations communities.

Midway through my work, I became aware of the limitations of conventional methods in healing deep wounds, those that had been buried by years of coping, getting by and by not being attended to. This led me to train in Polarity therapy which I credit in creating a shift in how I understood mental health challenges.

I then discovered Dr. Eugene Gendlin's Focusing and its emphasis on the "felt sense" in healing. This solidified my belief that the body held knowledge - memories, feelings, insights, tucked away from conscious awareness. Focusing helped individuals safely reach into those unconscious recesses and identify felt experiences. After seeing results in my own healing journey and those of my clients, I was committed to bringing it to as many people as possible.

"I work in a way that offers skills, tools and healing attitudes that can be taken out of the therapy office and used in daily life. This fits with my commitment to teach people how to heal themselves, how to become their own best advisers and therapists".

I have a great deal of respect for individuals' strength, resiliency and capacity to heal what ever it is that they set their minds to. And, I have a profound respect for that mysterious power, call it grace or universal synchronicity, that rises up to support us when we want to move forward.

"My mission is to assist in clearing minds, softening hearts and healing spirits".
